Teams Events
National Events
The club enters various national tournaments and pays all entry fees for these so there is no additional cost to the players who take part.
National League
Played in a central venue, currently the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline, on Sundays, the National League is for teams of five players. More than one team can be entered if there is sufficient interest. Edinburgh 1 won the top division in seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17.
Richardson Cup
Traditionally the premier team tournament in Scotland, it was established in 1899. For many years Edinburgh and the old Glasgow Chess Club made it a two horse race - Glasgow winning it 33 times and Edinburgh 23, but later the axis of power changed and for many years we could get no further than the semi-final. However in 2013 we returned to winning ways, beating Edinburgh West in the final.
It is played over 8 boards with a long time control of 40 moves in 2 hours and a half hour quickplay.
Dates for all events will be posted on the Club Calendar as they are arranged.
