As we head into a new club year, we are delighted to announce that the club will be getting some renovations done during August.
The rear windows in the main playing hall are receiving some much-needed attention and the spare room (the locked door on the left in the hall) is being completely renovated so that we can expand our chess playing area, increase the number of tables in the club, and give our members more room during our increasingly popular and well-attended Tuesday club nights. Once the work is completed, we will have two rooms to use for playing, tournaments, training and events. This will help us develop our plans for the years ahead, and the renovation of the rest of the club- more on which in due course.
The works are beginning this Monday, 3rd August and are scheduled to last for at least three weeks. Due to the nature of the works, the club will be completely closed during this period and so there will be no Tuesday club nights for the next three weeks – apologies for any inconvenience caused.
