Edinburgh Chess Club has a thriving section of enthusiastic junior players ranging from complete beginners up to those strong enough to play for our adult teams!
We have dedicated junior coaching sessions on Wednesday evenings led by experienced master player, and former Scottish champion, Neil Berry. These sessions continue throughout term time and are free for Edinburgh Chess Club junior members.
Additional junior coaching sessions are run at the club on Sunday mornings by our friends and partners at Edinburgh Chess Academy. These are open to all players, members and non-members, for a modest fee. Details of the Sunday sessions can be found here.
Edinburgh Chess Club run the Tiger Cubs – a dedicated junior team in the Edinburgh and Lothians adult league which gives juniors the opportunity to enjoy real-life competitive chess.
The Tiger Cubs also compete in the Summer Cup competition which is run on a handicap basis – we are proud to say that they have won this competition on more than one occasion!
